Painting by Joanne Wishart
Artist: Joanne Wishart
No.1 - Love this painting that I came across on Facebook this week! It reminds me of childhood day trips to Blackpool and the donkey rides along the beach. The donkeys were usually harnessed together and they all had bells on their halters, which made a lovely sound as they walked along the sand. I remember it was  a very serious business choosing which one to ride and I used to take my time making my choice. There was always a Sally and a Billy! If I had to choose a donkey to ride from this beautiful painting, it would be the one in the middle. I think it might just be Billy, and he's looking right at me, as if he's inviting me for a ride :)

My prize - crochet hooks and yarn
No.2 - My prize arrived today, all the way from America! Kathryn at Crochet Concupiscence did a lovely Giveaway over Christmas, and I won a set of bamboo crochet needles and a ball of Silk Bamboo yarn (I'm thinking fingerless mitts). In addition, Kathryn sent me a cute crocheted pocket for my needles, and a groovy car sticker... peace.love.yarn! Thank you Kathryn, I love my prize :)

Crocheted Owl
No.3 - Meet Mr.Owl! I used the pattern here at Bunny Mummy blog (there's a fab tutorial too, for beginners), it's so quick and easy to make. I had a good rummage through my button tin, but couldn't find any buttons I liked enough for eyes, so I made my owl a sleepy owl :) I'm going to make at least two more, one for each of my grand daughters, I just need to know which colours they would prefer :)

No.4 - 'My name's Suzy Smart, and I can do arithmetic. One plus one is two, two plus two is four.' Haha, this photo brings back so many memories! I had the Suzy Smart talking doll when I was a little girl...oh, probably about eight years old. My Nanna bought her for me, for Christmas. I loved how Suzy sat at her little desk, and I used to pretend that I was her teacher - at the end of the lesson I'd 'send her home' by putting her in the cupboard. When I look at that picture of her now, I'm not surprised that I gave her a 'feather-cut'. :)

I hope you've been happy this week,

  2. The little owls are really cute! Neve and Georgie love them and say that if you insist on making them one (you can imagine how much persuading it took!), Neve would like hers to have Indigo and Pink in and Georgie would like one with Red and Black! Maybe a Navy Blue would be nicer? We'll leave it in your extremely capable hands though

    1. Indigo and pink? Wow, that's a very precise choice :) And red and black for Georgie...that surprises me, I was expecting something like pink and lilac, it's a good job I asked :)
